Greetings darlings,
A very very quick word because I’m quite exhausted. My flatmates are urging me to get to bed or Santa will skip our house. I highly doubt that as the space beneath the tree is exploding with presents but I won’t get into details about it with them.

I thank each and every one of you for putting up my nonsense and absence and disappearing for months on end this year. I thank you for finding even the slightest amusement in my work.
I wish you all the best at this time of year and that the upcoming year is full of good things and adventures for us all.

Cheers!

x-posted on our Livejournal Serpenthes
(hence the Writer’s Block question)

Hello dolls!
I come to you with yet another update. I’ve been gone from home for a few days and in those days my mind has been observing, storing, and plotting.

I have a very exciting new project in store for myself. It may take a while for me to gather materials for execution but it’ll happen. It’s something I’ve been mulling over in my head for several years now. I’m going back to my roots for a small side project that I’ll debut at some point this summer.

Now, on to other matters.
I’ve just put two new Moleskine notebooks up for sale that I penned this very afternoon. The muses have been working overtime. I’m in the process of another of a different variety so hopefully that’ll be up in a day or so.

And finally, for today’s Writer’s Block:
What type of music inspires you?

What a question.
These days I tend to stick to music that makes me dream in sepia. At the moment I’m pretty fond of dark country (16 Horsepower, The Ravonettes) and of the British flashback to 60s pop (Amy Winehouse, Duffy)… for the most part, that’s what’s on constant at the moment. Tom Waits, Arcade Fire, Rasputina, and the Rat Pack are a pretty surefire way to get my brain going too.
I’m also a huge fan of ridiculous, epic classical music. Though I will admit that sometimes it goes beyond inspiration and back down to the defeat in knowing I will never ever create something that beautiful.

And THAT is enough of my issues for today.

Have a good weekend, loves.

Greetings and salutations!

For some odd reason, it’s a bit difficult for me to keep constant with this. I realize that in this day and age, the way to connect to people on this crazy interweb is through blogging. But sometimes, I just can’t be arsed.

In any event.
It’s about 1,000 degrees here in Los Angeles. 81 to be exact, which is a considerate cool-down from yesterday when it was about 99. When this happens, I, like most native Angelenos, start to get excited by the return of warm weather and how nice it is outside… and then proceed to hole up in our air conditioned comfort because No Way am I going anywhere, it’s HOT out there!

Anyways.
I’ve joined several awesome sites as of late. Too much free time, I suppose.
If you are on there, add us:

In the meantime, I sneakpeak at an upcoming project:

Greetings and salutations, dearest darlings.
For the longest time I thought I would get rid of this silly blog since I can’t be arsed to maintain it.
Did a quick sketch today, which made me happy, and worked on a little something to sell you.

One is up on the site: serpenthes.com

The other in the boutique: serpenthes shoppe

Besides this, I have nothing new to share with you. I intend on revamping the website a little bit because I’m quite tired of looking at it as it is. I also just finished the most marvelous book I’ve read in a long while - The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson. I highly recommend it if you like history told in a very interesting and understandable way.

More at a later time.

I’m keeping up with my Titles in the Order of the Alphabet. For whatever reason, it amuses me.

So I’ve been a busy bee with doing things other than work and sleep that DO, in fact, include drawing.
Amazing, you say. I agree.

So I have some new work up on the site.
